What interests me about UK so far?
UK's been dominant with Oscar (especially on D), and surprisingly stout on the boards without him. I explain using my Stats Engine!
In this edition of Hoops Insight, I’m going to do something a bit different. Below you’ll find a video where I walk through some interesting data about UK so far this season using my Hoops Insight Stats Engine. You can follow along as I cover:
How UK’s defense has stood out with Oscar Tshiebwe, and fallen apart without him
Kentucky is still a great rebounding team even when the best rebounder in the country sits
I identify a promising way UK can play when Tshiebwe sits
Enjoy the video below, and follow along with the stats engine!
Don't want videos - would like text so I can review it leisurely and absorb the content better.
Like C J, I find the written articles helpful because I can slow down and/or reread new concepts and absorb the info better, but I did like the video because I didn't think it ventured into anything terribly complex and it's nice having a visual aid for the stats engine. I've only checked it out briefly thus far because I'm a little hesitant to draw many conclusions from both a small data set and an overall lower level of competition than we're going to face throughout the rest of the season, but I certainly plan on accessing it more deeper into the coming season. Sean, I'm curious what your thoughts are on how our freshmen are progressing thus far and how, if at all, trying to project their future performances using stats is different than the more experienced players. As always, I enjoyed the piece and appreciate you sharing your perspective and get a lot out of reading your articles on the site.
